2022 Chupacabra 1oz. Collectors Edition Coin
The Chupacabra is a vicious specimen which is common in Latin American folklore that attacks cattle and sucks their blood. The name is derived from the chupar and cabra in Spanish. Chupar meaning "to suck" and cabra meaning "goat." Chupacabras were first recorded in Puerto Rico where goats, sheep and other domestic animals had been attacked, supposedly leaving behind carcasses drained of blood. An early report portrayed a creature standing on two feet and resembling a huge reptilian kangaroo with big red eyes. There have never been any real chupacabras found, but there have been countless other sightings throughout the Americas, with a lot of reports coming from the south. The Chupacabra is defined as the Southern counterpart of the Sasquatch, because they are both mythical creatures that are renowned in their respective regions.
